Happiness Abounds

                                     I love this stamp set.

Happiness abounds has happy sentiments. 😏 Brilliant right?  But not only are they happy, the font is romantic and flowing.  Very usable.

A close up of the corners shows the detail of trimming off the excess corner that is not colored in.  After I markerd in the flowers I used a blending brush to shade Mossy Meadow to tone down the white.  I didn't even mask it and it was fine.  My Directions and an additional colorway are at the end of the blog!  I hope you love it!  If you do, please let me a comment at the bottom!!  Thanks!

Adhesive of your choice

Begin by stamping with Memento ink 4 of the small flowers in the corner.  I used one open flower and one somewhat closed flowers asymmetrically. Leave some space in the corners to cut away the corner giving you a scalloped edge.  Use Dark Calypso Coral to shade the centers of the flowers, then color in all of the rest of the flower with Light Pumpkin Pie.  Outline the tops of the petals with the Dark Pumpkin Pie.  Use the blending brush and Mossy Meadow by starting off the paper and swirling onto the paper as to not get blobs.  Keep the color light as to only tint it. Use the scrap white paper and the blending brush to tint enough of the paper with Mossy Meadow to cut two of the small double leaf.  Really give yourself enough color for the leaves as they will be an accent and not to blend with the tinted background.  Also tint with Mossy Meadow the 2 x 3 white cardstock. Stamp sentiment with black ink. Use the small double leaf stamp  and VersaMark to create a background on the Cajun Craze Cardstock.  Start off the page with the stamp to give the appearance that it was cut from a larger sheet of patterned paper. Use the spiral bound edge at the top of the cajun Craze Cardstock.

To Assemble:  Place tinted sentiment centered on Night of Navy.  Arrange leaves and flowers at top.  Adhere leaves flat.  Use dimensionals to adhere flower.  Assemble this centered to the Cajun Craze cardstock and then to the 4 flowers cardstock. Place the entire set onto the Night of Navy card base.  Last, place a Gilded Gem in each corner and 3 under the sentiment.

This is an easy card layout just changing the sentiment.  Here is another card with different colors.  The bow is a nice added detail.

Bottled Happiness Shaker Card
Finally!  I am getting to play with the Bottled Happiness stamp set.  I have had it for a while but I have had so many other stamp sets jump in front of this one.  But, it works out perfectly because I love it for fall!  When I chose this set I thought I needed to used "glass colors" like bottle green and cobalt blue.  But 70's kitchen colors work well here all!  You tell me but I think the square from the "Watercolor Shapes" looks like mosaic squares!  I put glitter in the shaker but sand would be a great option also.  All instructions are listed below along with some photos for the background.

Close up of Shaker Bottle

Inside of card.  I stamped the small bottle and I used the punch out from the Shaker on the card front.  Dang it, that bottle is cute!

A few tips on the background.  The "Watercolor Shapes do not need you to spritz them to get the watercolor appearance.  The stamps are textured to give a watercolor appearance on their own.  The "hollow spot" is bumpy and will not take ink in a solid fashion so don't keep trying....ask me, I know.  Also, start with lightest color first and begin with stamping off on a paper first.  You can control the shades of ink and get different shades as shown above.
Turn the stamp to shift the location of the hollow spot.  Begin off the cardstock so that your patterned will appear to continue beyond the page, but if you stamp again without reinking you will get a line of different shades of ink.  This is such a fun background to make.  Directions are listed below.

Create the background on the background piece by following the photos.  Position the bottle punch to punch out shaker opening from the top and considering placement for message.  I punched the bottle 3 inches from left and 1/4 inch from the bottom.  Lay the bottle dome on a flat surface and add some glitter into the concave space.  Remove the adhesive strip from the bottle dome and place the
3 1/4 x 2  white cardstock over the bottle dome to seal the glitter inside.  Be sure to press all the area of the adhesive strip.  If you are using ribbon or twine, cut a piece 1 1/4 inch and lay across the neck of the bottle securing at each side.  Tie the rest with a knot in the middle and hot glue the knot onto the top of the ribbon on the neck of the bottle.   Adhere the bottle dome to the punched out area being sure to keep the knot tied ribbon out from behind the background paper.  Adhere the background paper to the Evergreen Cardstock and then to the Cajun Craze Card Base off setting to allow for the three gold embellishments.  Stamp sentiment on white piece and adhere to small evergreen sentiment base.  Use dimensionals to lift sentiment.  Stamp and cut out wine labels for inside and out.  One the inside stamp bottle in your choice of ink.  Use the punched piece from the background you created, add wine label and use dimensionals to adhere.

I hope you love this!

                         Sweet Tag Gift Card

                                                               Happy July!

I cannot believe it's already July and here we are thinking about Christmas cards!  It's actually a hard thing to do when it's 95 degrees outside.  I am in Tampa, Florida and it's been very warm.  But I know if I don't get started now, I will not be able to make all the Christmas cards and special bags that I want to.  I think it's all those distracting holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving stuck in there before hand
that allows Christmas to sneak up on us.  Well, if you want to do the special things like card making, now is the time.

I chose several Christmas sets because I wanted to make certain things for certain people.  Then I just couldn't get organized or inspired.  I put all of them on my craft desk along with the remnants of another project that I have not cleaned up.  Okay, it's a wreck.  I had to really push myself to create because I don't like creating in a mess.  I think the creating "Gods" were with me on this on, because I love it.

This is what I love about Stampin" Up.  Even when your not feeling exactly in the mood, the products work together.  The bundles, papers, ink.....it's just so easy.

I have to say, I love, love, love the "Celebrate With Tags Bundle."  If I had to choose one item, it would be this one.  First, I am a "tag" girl.  There is something about tags that gets me every time.  It's the interaction and "usefulness" of the tag.  Maybe it's the "surprise of what's inside." But a tag in a pocket?  So this is a must have.  If you purchase the bundle you get to get something for Sale a-bration!  Below I have listed the supplies for this card.  The card is super easy and the tags are fast too!

I hope you love the card!  Please leave a comment if you do!

SUNNY SPLASH BOOK MARK CARD

Hello!

Here in Florida it's so hot, unbearable actually!  I am from Florida and I can't take it!  😎

Let's celebrate our patriotic holiday with a throw back to a simpler time.  July 4th takes us outside to enjoy sunshine, family and friends.  It's time to slow down and relax with a good book by the pool or beach.  This card has a tag for a book mark (or you could put a gift card on it).  It's a card with a gift for a reader or book lover who will think of you each time they use it!

The stamp set "Sunny Splash" is sure to be a favorite!  Used here with Real Red and Balmy Blue you get the fresh updated look that actually goes back to the 50's.  But, this stamp set would look great in black and white, black, white and yellow, pink and green.....on and on.  The stamps for both sets are deeply etched rubber and they stamp beautifully.  Very clean.

All the instructions are below.  Stamp/die sets used are Sunny Splash, Ranunculus Romance and Tailor Made Tags.

WHAT'S NEW

                                                    STAMPIN' UP NEW CATALOG!!

                                                                       SHOP WITH ME

WELCOME!

It's actually like Christmas around here!!  It is so exciting when the new catalog comes out that it reminds me of when I was a kid with the Sears catalog at Christmas and I was circling all the products I wanted....which was everything.  Actually, that's not exactly true, I was pretty choosey when I was a kid.  But, I really have to limit myself with Stampin' Up because I like everything.  LOL!  Here's the problem, I try to be choosey and then someone posts the custest darn card or idea and I think, "I have to have that."  That happens all day long!!  That is the fun thing about stamping.  The creativity is endless.  Stamping has been around forever.  Since the caveman days really.  The first stamping artwork was probably a caveman's handstamp on a rock with soot.  Then, someone back then came up with a dye or ink like substance that had some permanency and there you have stamping.  Products have been improved and new gadgets have been designed.  There are so many options.

STAMPING TRENDS

Stampin' Up is always updating their product line with the newest trends and styles in paper crafting..  Yes, paper crafting has new trends.  You see it in gift shops, art galleries, department stores and more.  Go to the drug or grocery store and look at the cards and gift wrap and you will see similarities come forward.  Right now there is a mixed media trend that is shown in Stampin' Up's Hello Beautiful stamp set and Beautiful Shapes die cuts that is a collage and layered look.  You should check it out.  I love it!  Another thing that is new....the new "IN COLORS".  This is one of the great things at Stampin' Up.  Every year, Stampin' Up produces 5 new "IN COLORS" that stay in the product line for two years.  In case you don't know, Stampin' Up produces matching cardstock, inks, ribbons, markers, patterned papers, embellishments and more.  This is a big deal.
